Dear Customers,
Halloween has not yet come and gone, but we can’t help but feel that late October and the month of November is also the perfect time to start Christmas shopping.
We are receiving shipments of Christmas-themed products, gift sets and amazing chocolates on a daily basis. In fact, merchandise is arriving so often, we are having trouble stocking our shelves quickly enough.
And of course, let’s not forget to mention all the amazing cheeses, oils and other foods that continue to inspire.

Herma wears many hats while running her store. Whether creating gift baskets, arranging cheese trays, offering body care, decorating with all her many home decor pieces or offering advice on how her foods may be best prepared and served, she will be sure to inspire. Not to be overlooked, however, at this time of year, is her role as a chocolatier.
With names like Godiva, Galerie au Chocolate, Willie’s Cacao, Summerdown Mint, Bellissima and Fraktals along with Holdsworth and Pralibel, Herma offers a beautiful collection of chocolates from which to choose that will be perfect for holiday gift-giving.

Herma’s Menu Suggestions
Each week within our newsletter, Herma will provide menu suggestions suitable for one, two or four people. While great for those shopping within the store, these suggestions are also fabulous for those wishing to take part in our curbside pick-up.
The English Pub
On a cool autumn day, the comforts of an English pub calls to us – offering a warm fire, convivial company, and an old fashioned pub meal. At Herma’s we carry an amazing selection of foods that will allow you to enjoy this type of meal at home.
Our frozen meat pies from The Village Grocer come in individual serving sizes. We offer the classic meat pie with beef and onions, steak pie, chicken or turkey pie, and a tourtiére, made with pork. Enjoy your meal with one of Rootham’s chutneys – caramelized onions, cracked pepper and lime, cranberry with apple, or mango.
Or how about bangers and mash? Cook up a few prime rib beef sausages and serve on top of creamy mashed potatoes by The Village Grocer. We like Mrs. McGarrigle’s British Beer Mustard with this meal.
For the hearty appetite, we offer frozen Village Grocer Beef with Beer and Onions, and Pot Roast with Gravy. Just thaw and heat at 325 for 30-40 minutes. Add a big spoonful of Kuhue’s Prepared Horseradish or Crazyhorse’s Extra Hot Horseradish.
Complete your pub meal with Hak’s Mini Green Peas and Carrots, and end with something special. Pair Mapledale’s 8-year-old Cheddar with Opie’s Pickled Walnuts. A must-try!

From Herma’s Cheese Shop…
While we are always excited to receive new arrivals of cheese each week, we also have an amazing selection of delectable dips, jellies, preserves and chutneys that will delight the senses when paired with just the right cheese.
This week we suggest pairing Royal Preserve Quince Jelly with a nice Manchego and Cafiti Spicy Apricot & Pepper Jelly with luscious triple cream cheese.
We also suggest trying our pitted prunes stuffed with prune cream and our assortment of Gascogne Fruits which are soaked in a variety of liquors. Both are lovely French delicacies that will add extraordinary flavour to your next cheese platter.
