Herma’s News – Rosé Glasses, NEW Arrivals, Honey with Cheese
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there. – Jelaluddin Rumi, 13th century
Dear Customers,
As I write this newsletter, I know it will quickly become old news as I am aware that there is a lot of amazing merchandise just waiting to be moved from our warehouse into our store, and I can’t wait to introduce them to you in our next newsletter. In the meantime, however, we have other new items that shouldn’t be overlooked, especially where delicious food is concerned.
Time for Rosé on the Patio
Now is the time to enjoy warm evenings on the patio with a cold glass of rosé. The rosé glass with its slightly conical shape is ideal for bringing out the fruit and freshness of rosé wines. Made of high-quality, clear crystal, this glass brings out the wonderful colors of rosé wine. Find at Herma’s just in time for spring and summer.

Victorinox chef’s knives are incredibly sharp and excellently balanced. Made in Switzerland for 125 years, Victorinox Swiss Army Knives have earned respect from chefs and gourmets alike. Interesting fact? They are now one of the trusted sponsors of the show, Master Chef.
Find at Herma’s…
The Swiss Classic Cutlery Block (pictured above) is a chopping, dicing and slicing powerhouse. Housing nine high-precision blades, spanning Paring, Table, Bread, Santoku and Carving knives, plus kitchen scissors and sharpening steel, it helps every cook raise their culinary game.
A 3-Piece Grand Maitre Series Set The chef’s knives from this series are made from a single piece of steel and are connected to the handles using solid rivets.
The Santoku Knife was first created for Japanese cuisine like sushi and sashimi which require extremely fine and precise cuts. It may be used with other foods requiring that same kind of precision also.
Also find individual 6″ knife, 8″ knife, Bread knife and every paring (peeling) knife imaginable (huge selection) great for slicing, chopping, mincing, forming and flattening.
We also have an entire collection of Global Knives from Japan at Herma’s.
Amanti Black Lemon Gouda
Amanti gouda is a double cream gouda with the addition of cleansing charcoal and lemon. Texture is smooth and taste is refreshing due to citrusy notes. It is dramatically stunning on a cheese and charcuterie board. Pairs well with bright white wines.
A drizzle of honey is the perfect contrast to the saltiness of cheese. Drizzle sparingly over cheese just before guests arrive or place small jar on cheese platter or cheese plate. Bread and crackers serve as a nice clean platform on which the cheese might be placed.
Honey pairs well with the following cheeses.
Brie – Triple Creme – Blue Cheese – Parmigiano Reggiano – Sharp Cheddar – Pecorino – Goat
Note: We carry a truffle honey that is lovely drizzled on popcorn, grilled cheese, mixed into yogurt and mixed with nuts – even on fried chicken. A little truffle flavour goes a long way, so use sparingly. A drop or two will do.
Charcuterie
Another lovely compliment to cheese (and honey too) is Porchetta Ham and Prosciutto DOP from Italy, both of which may be sliced to your liking. Just ask and we will be happy to prepare it for you. Find other already packaged ham and salami in our coolers just around the corner from our Cheese Shop.
Have a lovely weekend. We look forward to seeing you in coming days.
Sincerely,
Meredith Ender
