Grana Padano from Italy
Grana Padano is a hard cow’s milk cheese that has stood the test of time. While its aging process is actually nine months to two years, Grana Padano was first recorded in the year 1135.
It was made by monks at the time in the Po Valley of Northern Italy. They used surplus milk that was aged resulting in a firm, grainy cheese with a unique flavour.
The locals gave it the name Grana which means “grainy”. Padano refers to the Po Valley from which it originates.
This cheese is protected by the European Union with strict guidelines so that its production remains consistent.
NEW Truffle Capreggio
Cathy is excited to announce that we have Truffle Capreggio, a goat’s milk cheese made by Fifth Town in Prince Edward County. For years we have all loved Fifth Town’s Capreggio. Now it is combined with truffles for an even more sophisticated taste.
