Herma’s Thanksgiving Message and Saturday’s Event, Taste of the Netherlands

Dear Customers,

The anticipation of tree-lined streets set ablaze with bright flames of orange, gold and amber leaves is what I find thrilling about the arrival of Autumn. Along with this glorious beauty, and just as wonderful, is the aroma of warm nostalgia that fills and transforms our kitchen into a place of comfort as we stay indoors during cool nights.

This warm nostalgia is especially apparent in our kitchens this weekend as we prepare for the centuries-old tradition of giving thanks at harvest time, what we here in North America lovingly call Thanksgiving. The aroma of fresh baked bread, cranberry sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, pork, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, buttered corn, juicy turkey simmering in the oven and apple cider give way to warm memories of time spent giving thanks with family and friends around a long table decked out with all the trimmings. At Herma’s, we love to be a part of this time-honoured tradition as we look forward to helping you prepare for your feast however small or large it may be. 

To make this weekend’s preparations even more special we hope you’ll join us as we provide you with foods of the Netherlands this Saturday in the Studio. It is our way of giving thanks for you, our wonderful customers and friends, old and new.
