Every mouthful was a delight, and I began to see that appreciation of food was a way of life in France.Rhys Bowen, Above the Bay of Angels

Simple is Best

I spread some fresh goat cheese onto a baguette and bit into it. For an instant, the cheese, the taste, transported me to my childhood…“Oh my God,” I mumbled with this mouthful of excitement, so delicious it was sinful. The cook said, “Ma puce, is something wrong?” “No, this is the best meal I’ve had in weeks,” I said. “Bah,” she said. “It’s simple. But sometimes simple is the best, non?”Samantha Verant, The Secret French Recipes of Sophie Valroux

For us, simplicity that we love is a buttery triple cream cheese spread on a crusty, flakey baguette or yummy Fine Cheese Company Co. cracker from Bath. Pair it with something like Provision’s Peach and Prosecco Sparkling Jam and you most definitely will have something so delicious that it’s almost sinful.

Exciting new cheese arrivals!

Pink Tulip-Shaped Wensleydale Strawberry with Prosecco – Yellow Tulip-Shaped Wensleydale Lemon with Limoncello – Chateau de Bourgogne – Taleggio – Brebirousse D’Argental – Grey Owl – Tiger Blue – Buchette aux Fleurs (goat cheese with flowers) – Langres (with a small crater for pouring Champagne) – Rosette de Lyon Sausages from Quebec – and so, so much more

Charcuterie

In addition to a large selection of charcuterie which may be found in our coolers, we also offer a beautiful Prosciutto DOP which may be sliced to your liking. Just ask Janis or Herma and they will be happy to perform this service for you.

Entertaining Tip: When creating a spread, consider wrapping Prosciutto around Italian bread stick crackers for pretty presentation.

In addition to the refreshingly delicious Lemo-licious we mentioned last week, we also think Liver Pâté would be a delicious treat to serve your guests this Easter. Stilton Pate is also very tasty served alongside certain meats and veggies as well. We suggest adding a smidgen of onion and raspberry jam to your Liver Pâté and place on top a thin cracker.
