Cheese in the Winter
Cold winter nights at home can be truly glorious if spent in the correct way. Certain cheeses have been produced and enjoyed by Europeans for centuries. There is a reason they have stood the test of time. They are the ultimate comfort food and some are especially amazing when enjoyed in the winter.

Raclette is a fantastic way to enjoy winter fun in the kitchen. Swiss-German convent texts dating from as far back as 1291 describe Raclette as a nutritious meal that was consumed by peasants in the mountainous Savoy region of Switzerland and France.

Rich, creamy, tangy and salty in flavour, this blue will make your salad a work of art. Crumble along with walnuts or create your own delicious dressing.
Cathy suggests drizzling it with honey for a nice sweet-versus-salty combination. Of course don’t forget how lovely this blue is when crumbled over a baked potato or placed on a juicy hamburger or steak.
Purists, of course, will tell you that it can stand on its own without food – perhaps by the fire while enjoying a glass of whiskey
