Arrabbiata Sauce with Penne Pasta

This recipe will give you a delicious meal requiring very few ingredients. In Italy, it’s the quality of the ingredients that counts.

Ingredients for two People

250 g Rummo Penne Pasta
Jar of Arrabbiata Tomato Sauce from Viani
2 garlic cloves
Parsley, to taste

Directions

Finely chop the garlic cloves. Then prep the parsley by removing the stems and finely chopping the leaves.

In a sauté pan heat olive oil, garlic and parsley stalks. After sautéing for a few minutes, add the sauce. Add salt and simmer.

Cook the Penne in a pot of abundant, salted boiling water. Drain them al dente (2 minutes prior to cooking time) and finish cooking directly in the sauté pan with the sauce from which you should first remove the parsley stems. Remove from the heat, add chopped parsley. Stir and toss to mix. Serve, adding more parsley as garnish. Buon appetito!

*Recipe is a slightly altered version of Rummo’s.

Featured Cheese of the Week

Zacharie Cloutier

Zacharie Cloutier is a multi-award-winning semi-hard, raw sheep’s milk cheese created just outside of the village of Racine, Quebec. It is named in honour of one of Quebec’s earliest colonists who arrived in 1634 and it was awarded best cheese made in Quebec in 2023. Its firm paste is semi-cooked and gives off sweet aromas of butter and caramel. Its orange rind has a braided, woven zigzag pattern like that of a Manchego and it has been described as tasting of fresh hay and sunshine. Pair with Chardonnay or Pinot Noir and a dollop of quince jelly on the side.

25% off – From the United Kingdom

Coombe Castle Huntsman…The attractive combination of stilton and Double Gloucester is a real beauty to be showcased on a cheese and charcuterie platter. The Double Gloucester has a smooth, buttery taste, while the Stilton is tangy resulting in a unique tasting experience to enjoy alongside your charcuterie.

Coombe Castle Fiery Spice…This is a flavorful mature English cheddar that has been given a kick of green and red bell peppers, crushed chili and garlic. It is really amazing on grilled cheese, melted over nachos, blended into a chili con queso dip and grated over roasted vegetables. Pair with a nice pint of cold beer.

Truly Grass Fed Cheddars…Both their 6-month-old and 12-month-old cheddars are from Ireland and are milked from cows who roam pastures that enjoy a 95% grass-fed diet. Smooth and delicious for snacking and more.

Coming soon (maybe by this weekend)! highly recommended Kapuskasing from Ontario and award-winning Pionnier from Quebec.
