Dear Customers,

Once again we must batten down the hatches in order to weather a crazy storm that will leave us homebound for days. We know it is difficult, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

The safety and well-being of every person who sets foot in our store is our top priority. That being said we are remaining open to a limited capacity of 6 customers at any given time along with also offering curbside pickup service.

At Herma’s we hope to be of some help during these trying times by providing delicious foods and new ways of cooking that will allow you to experience an adventure within your very own kitchen.

Moroccan Chicken Tagine Dish – Herma’s Fine Foods & Gifts

Tagine Tips

Begin on low heat. – Make sure there is always some liquid in your tagine when cooking. – If necessary, add a small glass of water. – The tagine steam cooks the food, so keep the lid on during cooking. – A long cooking time on low heat gives the best results.  – Marinating your meat with Moroccan spices the night before will provide extra flavour.

Moroccan Meal

Moroccan food is often eaten directly from the Tagine. Bread is used to mop up sauces and to pick up foods. When using a plate to eat from, however, use the bread to mop up sauces and clean your plate. Rice served on the side helps soak up the tasty juices as well.

Village Grocer Foods

This week Harry will be filling our shelves with all of your favorite Village Grocer foods. We love the many sides, entrees, soups, gravies, sauces, quiches, meat pies, steaks, hams and chicken that the Village Grocer provides us.

Their packaged meals are healthy, fresh and easy to prepare. To keep abreast of what we carry from the Village Grocer, be sure to check Facebook on Saturday mornings as we will be providing current pictures of much of what is in our freezers.

Treat yourself to something special.

While at Herma’s be sure to visit our Cheese Shop for Signature Products, Cheeses, Cheese Tools, Salami, Condiments, Formaticum Cheese Paper and so much more. Delicious Italian Porchetta Ham and Prosciutto are in the Cheese shop waiting to be sliced just for you.

If in need of cheese advice or to have specific cheeses cut special, look for Janis to be in the Cheese Shop on Fridays and Saturdays.

NEW! Herma’s Store Policies and Winter Hours

After careful consideration, in addition to curb-side pickup, we have decided to open our doors to a limit of six customers. We feel this will adequately keep customers spaced apart at a safe distance while shopping.
