Dear Customers,

We are so looking forward to our first Open House since the start of the pandemic. It has always been a tradition each year for us to offer special foods, along with new entertaining ideas, to our customers at the start of the season. We believe this is a great way to thank you for choosing to shop with us.

This year, to make everyone feel comfortable, with no overcrowding, we will be serving you both inside and outside of the store. I am also grateful to good friends who have offered to help make everything run smoothly.

Special guest chef and friend, Zak Copeland of Prep, will be joining us along with my daughter, Renee, who is also a food-lover and chef. Margaret will be present as well, preparing and offering delicious foods to sample. And our Cheese Shop is brimming over with special cheeses that Janis is excited to share with you on this day.

Last, but not least, as a mother and grandmother, I am very excited for the first time to have my entire family involved in the Open House, including my three young granddaughters. With all of you and all of those mentioned above, I think this will be the most memorable open house ever.

Just arrived! Holiday Foods & Gifts

Everyone has been working non-stop, like little elves, merchandising and shelving panettone, Marzipan, Stollen, mince pies, special sauces, fruit cakes, Christmas puddings and every kind of Christmas treat imaginable. The arrival of these special foods certainly has created a flurry of excitement.  

Having returned to the store after being gone only 4 or 5 days, I am amazed at how much has been done to unload, price and display foods and gifts, especially in the Studio where stacks and stacks of chocolate are beautifully laid out on our long dining table.

Harry is very proud of the special gift boxes of foods that have just arrived including olive oil gift sets and boxed sets from Stonewall Kitchen.

Taco has stocked one of my favourite holiday arrivals – festive mugs with charming Wrendale Designs by Hannah Dale.

Gordon has been busy creating gorgeous gift baskets and wrapping show-stopping gift certificates along with helping to display lovely tree ornaments and decorations.

Margaret has been invaluable to Herma helping to unload and display chocolate and Panettone – not an easy feat as our rooms are overflowing with them. 

Lights are twinkling and we have gifts in abundance – so magical and fun. We look forward for you to see all we have to offer.
