Cathy, Janice, and Margaret in the cheese department are so excited. There are so many wonderful new cheeses in the cheese department – too many to mention. Just in time for Easter entertaining!

Your favorite Beppino Occelli is back!

At Herma’s we can’t get enough of these fabulous cheeses from Italy.

Frutta e Grappa – Aged for a year in Beppino’s ancient caves, this cheese looks festive topped with fruit and is wonderfully delicious aged with Moscato wine.
Occelli in Foglie di Castagno – Aged for a year and a half in ancient caves and wrapped in chestnut leaves. Pair this uniquely delightful cheese with a dark craft beer or Langa wine.
Testun al Barolo – One can literally smell the grass and wildflowers of the Alpine wafting from this cheese as the animals that helped create it were allowed to freely graze on Alpine pastures. This cheese is aged for a year and coated with pressed Nebbiolo grapes.
Occelli al Marto d’Orzo e Whiskey – A goat and cow’s milk cheese that is coated with malt and whiskey. Mmmm.

Other Cheeses of Special Mention

Ubriaco al Prosecco

This lovely cheese comes from the Vento region in Northern Italy which is also the home of Prosecco. During the aging process, this cheese is delightfully submerged in Prosecco and covered in Prosecco grape.


Made in the northern Valsassina foothills of northern Italy since the 9th century.  Taleggio is a soft cheese with a meaty, fruity, and nutty interior that pairs well with fruit or honey. It melts easily and can be used in pasta dishes, pizzas, and other Italian dishes.

Thomas Hoe Stevenson Stilton

According to Cathy, this cheese is one of the best Stiltons one can buy. If you love Stilton, get excited. We now offer it at Herma’s.

Le Burgond – A Morbier Style Cheese

This is a succulently soft cheese from Douanier, France with a line of ash running through the middle. Its mild, rich, creamy flavour with a nutty aftertaste pairs well with Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir or Bordeaux.
